Wedding Gown Trends for 2014

2014 wedding dress trends leave quite a bit of room for the bride to try something a little different.  The gorgeous traditional white strapless wedding gown will always make an appearance on the runway every season but every now and then we see a twist on this customary design. This season we are seeing many modern twists on the traditional bridal gown.

Colour

The bride who dares to be different will love the colour trend this season. Why not take the traditional wedding dress silhouette and add touches of powder blue, blush and pink hues, and even a bit of yellow. As seen on many a celebrity on many a red caret, most women are no stranger to the silhouette of the fishtail gown. It is a dramatic adding flair to any design. When proportioned and fitted correctly, the fishtail silhouette allows the tailoring to do all the work. Exaggerate the hem of the back of the gown with a long train and you have a very timeless and sexy wedding gown.

Minimalism

Minimalism has been seen throughout up market ready to wear design collections and has proven to be quite popular to the simple and elegant dresser, and now to the modern bride too. Crisp white, clean lines and very sharp tailoring are appearing on the bridal runway this season, speaking the elegance of simplicity.

Ruffles

Ruffles have been quite big on the bridal runway for quite a few seasons now and there is no denying the effect it adds to the bridal dress. Dimension, dynamic, dramatic yet fairytale and princess like. The ruffle, be it only one down the front or back of your gown or a full skirt covered in layers and layers of them – the ruffle is a beautiful touch to any bridal gown.
